Who we are

Ovio House LLC is a design practice in Atlanta, Georgia. This policy explains what personal information we collect through oviohouse.com and in the course of an engagement, why we hold it, and what you can ask us to do with it. Ovio House LLC, Atlanta, Georgia, United States. info@oviohouse.com.

What we collect

2.1 When you request a conversation: your name and email address. 2.2 When you send an inquiry: your name, email address, which offering you are interested in, and what you write in the open field. 2.3 When you become a client: what you give us at intake and during the engagement — household composition and ages, what you eat and avoid, cooking and shopping habits, kitchen and equipment, storage, weekly schedule, budget, address, and your answers to our intake questionnaire. This can include dietary restrictions that reveal something about health or belief. We collect it only because a design cannot be built without it, we use it only to build and deliver your design, and we do not use it for anything else. 2.4 Billing: amount, date and status of payment. Card and bank details are handled by the payment service you use and are not stored by us. 2.5 Technical: our host and security services log IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and referring page. Our site analytics records visits and page activity. Our email provider records whether a message was delivered, opened or clicked. 2.6 We do not buy personal information.

Why we use it

To answer inquiries and arrange conversations; to design, deliver and support an engagement; to take payment and keep accounting records; to run and secure the site; to send you email you have asked for; and to meet legal and tax obligations. We do not sell personal information. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling.

Who else handles it

We use a small number of service providers, each handling information only to provide their service to us:

  • GoDaddy: Domain, DNS, website hosting and business email
  • 10Web: The website build and site analytics
  • WordPress and Fluent Forms: The site platform and the two contact forms
  • Brevo: Outgoing and marketing email, delivery and engagement records
  • Google: Documents and files shared with you during an engagement
  • Venmo and Zelle: Payment. We name any payment service we add here before we use it
  • Professional advisors: Accounting, tax and legal records

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, to protect our rights, or to a successor if the business is transferred.

Cookies

The site uses cookies that are necessary for it to work, including session and security cookies. It also uses analytics cookies, which tell us how many people visit the site and which pages they read. We use that to improve the site, not to identify you. You can block or delete cookies in your browser. Necessary cookies cannot be blocked without breaking parts of the site.

How long we keep it

(a) Inquiry and conversation-request records: 24 months from last contact, unless you become a client. (b) Client engagement records, including intake: 7 years from the end of the engagement, so that we can support and reconstruct a delivered system and meet tax and limitation requirements. (c) Accounting records: 7 years. (d) Email marketing records: until you unsubscribe, and a suppression record after that so we do not email you again.

How we protect it

Access is limited to those who need it. The site is served over HTTPS and our accounts use strong authentication. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Interactive tools are delivered as files the household holds on its own device.

Your choices

You may ask us to give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, and you may unsubscribe from marketing email at any time using the link in any message or by writing to us. We will respond within 45 days. Some information must be kept for tax and accounting reasons even after a deletion request, and a system already delivered to a household cannot be recalled.

State privacy rights

Residents of states with comprehensive consumer privacy laws — including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas and others — may have rights to access, correct, delete, obtain a portable copy of, and limit certain uses of their personal information, and not to be discriminated against for exercising them. Whether a given law applies to a business of our size depends on thresholds in that law. We honor these requests regardless of whether we are legally required to. Write to info@oviohouse.com.

Children

The site is not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children. A design may cover meals for children in a household; that information is given to us by an adult member of the household, and we use it only to build the design.

Where information is held

We are in the United States and our providers store information in the United States and, in the case of our email provider, in the European Union. If you contact us from outside the United States, you understand your information will be handled in the United States.

Changes

We will post any change here with a new date. If a change is material we will tell clients directly.
